Department of Medicine is committed to providing exceptional patient care through the exercise of sympathetic and researched founded medicine. We serve the hospital by working collaboratively with other medical professionals and by development a culture of safety with a focus on quality improvement. The Department is working 24 x 7 with Outdoor patient department, emergency treatment and free indoor patient department services.

Aims and Objectives

Enlisted below are the prime objectives of the department:

  • Prevention of Acute respiratory infections
  • Management of Diabetes
  • Diagnoses of Asthma
  • Control of Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)
  • Reduction of High blood cholesterol and triglycerides
  • Migraine Management

Standard Operative Procedures (SOPs)

Department have following standard operating procedures (SOPs):

  • The admission and / or discharge should only be made by Medical Specialist / or Medical Officer on duty
  • For new admissions receive patient, check vitals before quarrying through old records, lab results, old discharge summary and old charts
  • After assessment and patient’s physical exam, complete admission orders including drug prescription immediately
  • Charge Nurses and Doctors are primarily responsible for writing daily notes on each of their patients
  • Drug dosage, side effects and interactions should be checked daily and major points should be noted down in patients record by Hospital Pharmacist
  • One attendant only allowed with one patient
  • On death / expiry of patient, complete documentation should be maintained by the Charge Nurse and endorsed by the Medical Officer / Women Medical Officer on duty
